EARLY CHILDHOOD COUNSELOR or LICENSURE CANDIDATE: 

Job summary: The staff member’s primarily duty includes working in the home and assisting in group for the Marshall SEED if needed. Complete all required documentation and necessary paperwork to ensure timely payment from billing sources. Engage in team and agency activities to stay connected and up to date on current trends and issues in the field.  Some non-traditional hours, afternoons and early evenings with some flexibility (2-3).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma with 6000 hours of working with children and families under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed mental health professional; Bachelor’s degree with 2000 hours of working with children and families under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed mental health professional or; Master’s degree in human services related field.

Experience: Demonstrated ability to work with children and families experiencing mental health issues in a direct care/counseling role.

Skills & Knowledge: Familiar with a variety of counseling techniques and theories to aid in the care and treatment of individuals with mental health needs such as: behavior modifications for children, child development education, communication, decision-making skills, anger management, social skills, leisure, self-esteem and basic home budgeting.
